Organizations Benefitted
One hundred percent (100%) of the net proceeds from the Walk 2010 will support efforts to protect mothers and their unborn children and to promote respect for innocent human life.
Eighty percent (80%) of the proceeds will help the Texas Alliance for Life Trust Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization, change hearts and save lives by educating the public about respect for innocent human life and by doing legislative research for and defending pro-life public policy in the courts.
Events
Every January, TAL hosts the Texas Rally for Life at the Texas Capitol. The Rally draws thousands of people from across the state and gets the pro-life message out through media coverage.
Direct Education
Our public education programs promote respect for innocent human life. TAL frequently presents the pro-life message at a variety of community and church events in the Capitol area and around the state. Our Life Matters newsletter, voter guides, emails, and website reach an estimated 90,000 Texas households each year.
Research and Legal Defense
TAL provides essential research on legal and social issues. For example, our research found strong public support for the Texas Prenatal Protection Act, which established personhood of unborn children in Texas, thereby protecting unborn children from violent acts of assault and homicide.
TAL effectively defends Texas' pro-life public policies in state and federal courts. We have filed briefs successfully defending our laws from attacks in all 16 appellate courts (including the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals) and the federal 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.
Twenty percent (20%) of the proceeds will be awarded as grants to Texas agencies that assist pregnant women in need with compassionate alternatives to abortion. To date, TAL has awarded more than $80,000.
